Create Your Own English Therapy Blog

Not quite ready to translate your website? Maybe you'd like to test the waters by communicating your professional ideas in English to generate publicity and experience?

Writing an English blog can dramatically increase your global professional visibility, credibility as well as drive additional viewers to your therapist profile.

Every article you write is an opportunity for you to showcase your expertise, give explanations of your approach and begin developing that essential therapist/client relationship.

Ultimately, it will increase the chances that a client will select you as their therapist.

Doesn't that sound like a worthwhile project?

Before getting started, here are some steps on how to best organize your great ideas to attract as many readers as possible.

#1. Think like a client.

Be sure to pick a topic that is focused on a potential client problem. Narrow your focus in a way that will be meaningful to your audience and provide sufficient details, such as self-help strategies, common symptoms of disorders, treatment options, etc.

There are many different formats you can use to keep the content fresh, eye-catching and relevant!

TIP > Turning your blog into an advice column-style post or a numbered list (like this article) can make a topic more engaging and generate more clicks to view your profile page.

#2. Choose "catchy" titles that grab your reader's attention.

Clients scan titles first. Your titles should be descriptive, compelling and contain your main idea. Make sure you select a blog category so clients can easily find your blog in the wide virtual expanse of cyberspace!

TIP > Use a colon (:) “Dealing with Stress: How to Balance Work and Home Life”, or add a number to the title, “10 Tips for Managing Anxiety”. These types of titles have been proven to get more attention.

#3. Share your blog on social networks.

Once you’ve spent the time creating a thoughtful and specialized blog, share your hard work with your friends and colleagues. Social sharing can increase your overall visibility on a particular area of expertise, drive potential referrals as well as help increase your exposure on relavant social pages where English speakers are active. Use the “Share” feature on your published blog page to broadcast your work on Google+, LinkedIn, Twitter & Facebook.

Image is also important when marketing your services. If you're looking for eye-catching templates that capture your personal style, here are some recommendations specifically with therapy blogs in mind. Even if you don't consider yourself to be technologically talented, there are plenty of beautiful and user-friendly options to choose from. The most difficult part is deciding on your image!

Would you like to explore some examples of mental health blogs in English to get you started? They can give you some ideas on how to develop your own voice and style.
